We were urgently contacted by one of our
clients, reporting water rushing out from
the ground over the car-park. Due to the
urgency we released a repair team
immediately to visit the site.







On arrival we tested the water supply pipe
and found the leak was on the main 150mm
water pipe supplying the factory. Without
water, production and trading would be
disrupted, therefore we needed to act
quickly and begin excavating to repair
the pipe.








As we were unable to turn the water main
off during excavating works we
over-pumped the water with a submersible
pump stopping the trench from flooding,
in turn allowing us to excavate down
below the leaking pipe.








In no time the pipe was excavated and
exposed ready for repairing.












The damage section of pipe was removed
and replaced with a new section of 150mm
MDPE pipe, connected together using
pressurised fittings.










Once repaired, the contaminated clay was
removed from site and replaced with
imported granulated back-fill, preventing
future ground subsidence.







The tarmac foot-path was finally reinstated
and reopened for use, and the car-park
washed down leaving clean and tidy on
completion.
